Sony unveils the PlayStation 5

Sony Interactive Entertainment, the Japanese video game, and digital entertainment company has finally unveiled the PlayStation 5. In the event, lots of games were revealed, along with the console.

Reports show that the event was delayed a little due to the death of George Floyd in the United States, which led to a series of protests and the commonly known movement – #BlackLivesMatter.

The PlayStation 5 console is in two forms. One is a standard edition that comes with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc, with the other devoid of an optical disc drive.

The design of the PlayStation 5 is such that its console is black and white, with a sleek vertical design. The interiors are all black, with the sides of the console being white. It comes with a USB-A, and a USB-C port on the front, alongside the blue, LED lighting.

Sony further unveiled some accessories alongside the console, which includes;

  • a camera
  • a wireless headset,
  • a media remote
  • a charging dock for the Dual Sense Controller.

These accessories are also black and white which was announced around April.

However, the pricing and the release date of the PS 5 is yet to be announced. It is expected to be released by the end of this year.

So, I guess we all just have to sit back and relax, as we await the release of this incredible technology.
