Zoom Phone To Launch For South Africa This Week

Beginning from this week, more countries will be able to access Zoom Phone service, with South Africa set to receive theirs this week.

Zoom made the announcement via a post on the company’s blog. The post states that Zoom Phone now offers telephone numbers to 42 countries and territories, with more being added soon, which includes South Africa which will be added this week.

What does this service do exactly?

Zoom Phone is a cloud-based phone solution that is aimed at giving businesses access to infrastructure for communication that can aid employees in management remotely.

Included in the service are management features like interactive voice response (IVR), setting up a receptionist pool, and sales call monitoring. In a future update, Zoom hopes to include spam detection and blocking to improve the efficiency of the service.

Asides from employees being able to access Zoom Phone with their personal mobile phones and devices, they can also set accessibility hours to avoid work calls from coming through when they are not at work.

Zoom Phone service is, however, not free in comparison to Zoom main app and is aimed basically at businesses. Nevertheless, the service integrates with the main Zoom software.
