Google Assistant has just gone a step further.
Now you’ll be able to tell your Google Assistant to read out your texts from apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Slack, as stated in a report by Android Police on Friday.
Initially, the Assistant could read SMSs only, however, you’ll be able to grant it permission to access third-party electronic communication apps too.
According to the article, you just have to tell Google to read your messages in order for Assistant to access your notifications, a popup then appears on screen as the message is readout.
Assistant will also tell you which app the text is coming from, and which person sent it to you. You can then reply directly by texting or speaking.
P.S Messages containing media such as photos or audio cannot be read out by Assistant.
